Today's the day! Here's a picture of me with my one large suitcase (somehow weighing just below 50lbs.) my carry-on suitcase with shoes, coat, etc., and a large purse which contains the essentials. If I've forgotten anything else, I'll buy it there.
When we got into the car, my mom made me check to make sure I had my passport, tickets, money, etc. Fortunately for me she's a worrywart, because it helped me realize I left my debit card and ID in the scanner after making photo copies last night. Close call!
On the way to the airport there were signs stating expected delays. When we were still about 7 or 8 miles from the airport we saw the line of stopped cars. Luckily, we had the GPS to reroute us through the city in no time. Another close call!
As the emotional person I am, I started to tear up when saying goodbye to my mom. I went through security and as I handed the man my passport and boarding pass, he gave me a box of tissues. He chuckled a bit and said I wasn't allowed to turn and wave after this point. I am embarrassing.
I'll be departing from Rochester at 11:45AM, arriving to JFK around 1:15PM. The group flight to London leaves at 7:30PM and arrives at 7:50AM. Wish me luck!
so awesome! go to some soccer games!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I put you on a plane to fly thousands of miles away from me for several months! WOW! Have a great time and BE SAFE! I love you tons. MOM
ReplyDeleteYour mom has experience with children entirely missing planes because of little problems; you reap the benefits of that. ;D
ReplyDeleteWe got the word that you got there fine. I love the picture of you with all your stuff. Keep blogging, because this will be a great way to keep in touch as well as a great way to remember your time abroad.
Love, Aunt Melanie
